?xml>Anyone operating a refrigeration system can enjoy a highly effective way to save energy. A refrigeration system removes heat from the items being cooled. FRIONIC has been developed to prevent this heat being uselessly lost to the environment together with the machine heat. The system ensures optimum physical use of the heat.
Hot water and heating for free
Sensitive goods are usually stored chilled or frozen. A certain amount of energy must be used for cooling. This energy removes heat from the item being cooled, which is then simply dissipated into the atmosphere. Heat recovery makes use of the heat removed during the cooling process. FRIONIC converts this waste heat into valuable, free energy that can be directly used to heat service water and produce hot water.
Heating by cooling - heat from the refrigeration system
A spiral heat exchanger matched to the power of the compressor is installed vertically into the tank. In the upper area of the heat exchanger, superheat is passed into the water. This generates water temperatures far above the condensation temperature. This means: A high water temperature - low pressure in the compressor - low energy consumption. In the middle area of the heat exchanger, condensation heat is given off to the heating water. In the lower area of the heat exchanger, the cooler water works to supercool the refrigerant and thus improve cooling capacity.
Hygienic service water heating using the throughflow principle
Overlaid stainless steel corrugated pipes provide hygienic heating for fresh water. In line with physical principles, the corrugated pipe (service water heat exchanger / hygiene boiler) has been ideally installed in the thermal storage system in the form of a spiral. Service water heating is linear from the cool to the hot area of the tank so that the hottest layer of water keeps being renewed. You will always have hot water available, even when the system is under partial load.
Maximum hygiene
The minimal water content in relation to the large surface area of the exchanger means that the water is changed several times each day. Legionella does not stand a chance of dangerously multiplying. Large surface areas on heat exchangers necessitate a gentle transfer of heat (no superheated areas). Together with the additional advantages such as ultra-smooth surfaces, short dwell times and turbulence within the fluid, the deposition and accumulation of limescale is massively reduced.
Legionella - not a problem with FRIONIC
Tap water installations are subject to the risk of microorganisms growing inside them. The accumulation of limescale and corrosion provides an ideal surface for microbial activity, particularly legionella. Legionella are bacteria that exist in local bodies of water. Under optimal conditions at temperatures between 25 °C and 50 °C they are able to multiply rapidly. The risk of rapid growth is highest in poorly maintained hot water systems or systems that have not been used for a period of time. Breathing in spray containing bacteria, such as is formed when showering, can lead to serious illness, particularly in the elderly and those with weakened immune systems.
All advantages of the service water heat exchanger installed in the FRIONIC, particularly the use of just a small volume of water that is replaced several times each day, means that legionella bacteria are unable to multiply to hazardous levels.
