The Truco coaxial high-performance condensers from KM Schmöle feature Trufin,-S/T ribbed pipes. These are produced using a rolling processes from seamless pipes. Heat transfer from the condensing refrigerant to the pipe wall is improved by the increased outer surface area on the Trufin-S/T ribbed pipe. Alongside using Trufin-S/T ribbed pipes, the Truco coaxial high-performance condensers from KM Schmöle also use specially designed flow paths to optimise heat transfer. The heat exchanger makes use of the advantageous counterflow principle which simultaneously maximises the excess heat of the refrigerant vapour and allows supercooling of the fluid refrigerant. Depending on size, Truco coaxial high-performance condensers consist of one or three Trufin-S/T ribbed pipes enclosed within a single casing. Pipes for the piping system are bent into helical and spiral shapes. The space inside the condenser casing is filled with superheated refrigerant vapour. The refrigerant vapour cools down and condenses on the external surface of the Trufin-S/T ribbed pipe. This condensation then drains into the base of the condenser casing. Inside the pipes, the cooling medium, e.g. water, flows in the opposite direction to the refrigerant vapour. This counterflow principle and utilisation of excess heat allows high outlet temperatures to be achieved which can sometimes be above the actual condensation temperature. Smooth supercooling of the condensate is also achieved.
