GEA Bock HG66e is a range of new compressors that combine the latest technology with the design standards developed by GEA over many decades. They feature the mexxFlow 2.0 valve plate system and replace the previous 4 and 6 cylinder HG6 and HG7 versions. The mexxFlow valve plates, already used in the HG88e series, provides high efficiency and reliability in high-power operation. The HG66e series includes four installation sizes from 116.5 m³/h to 180.0 m³/h displacement volume (at 50 Hz). A modern, proprietary valve plate system, the latest generation of electric motors and improved gas flow through the compressor all contribute to the overall performance enhancement. All compressors make use of tried-and-tested oil pump lubrication that allows a large range of speeds when using a frequency inverter. The emergency operation properties have also been optimised - particularly important when using natural refrigerants. As usual, one of the key areas when developing the new HG66e compressors was excellent serviceability: This new range continues to feature stators that can be easily replaced on site without any special tools.

Models in the GEA Bock HGX66e range all have a winding ratio of 50%/50%
The motor winding is divided into two parts: Partial winding 1 = 50% and partial winding 2 = 50%. During a partial winding start, this form of winding reduces the start-up current to about 50% of the value of a direct start.
