The XEV22D controls various different types of stepper motor valves from different manufacturers according to its own superheat calculations in order to maintain the target superheating value. Actively regulated injection proves especially beneficial when under partial loads and where load conditions change quickly. Superheating calculations are done by comparing the actual evaporating pressure for the evaporating temperature with the measured gas temperature at the evaporator outlet. These are measured using a pressure transmitter and ohmic temperature sensor connected directly to the superheating regulator and then the calculation is done internally. Where various evaporators are connected to the same intake line, it is also possible to provide a common pressure value for several superheating regulators via a bus line in order to use a single pressure transmitter per intake line. Using the integrated RS485 interface, the module can communicate directly with an XWeb monitoring system. However, where superheating is highly unstable and a valve is being constantly adjusted, such logging does not provide particularly useful data due to the low sampling interval. The module features removable screw terminals for cables with a maximum cross-section of 2.5 mm2 that should be dimensioned in accordance with applicable regulations (current carrying capacity, insulation, heat resistance). It is recommended that all signalling cables (sensors, RS485, etc.) are laid separately from those of the control and main control circuits in order to avoid interference. The maximum current carrying capacity of the relay must not be exceeded. In case the connected loads draw high currents, suitable protection devices should be fitted.
Important notice: XEV and XEC must not be supplied by the same transformer!
