The free-standing Aquarea DHW hot water heat pump was designed for high energy efficiency even at low outside temperatures. The thermal energy required for heating is either brought in from the outside via air ducts or taken from the building. For example, warm waste air from rooms can be used to heat service water while the air cooled by the heat pump is routed outside or into rooms requiring cooling. Another heat source can also be connected to the heat pump, for example to use solar energy.
