Ultracap module for EVD evolution incl. terminals (battery power supply during mains outage). The Ultracap module is the new emergency power supply for electronic expansion valves. The module complements the combination of electronic expansion valve and its driver. It guarantees that the valve will fully close in the event of a sudden loss of mains power. This complete solution means that critical applications do not need a fluid solenoid valve in the refrigeration circuit. The Ultracap module guarantees 10 years of maintenance-free operation. Once the mains power comes back on, the Ultracap module requires just 4 minutes to recharge and be ready for use.
Configuration and programming is done via a removable display that does not need to be attached during normal operation (optional) or via a PC/laptop using the Carel VPM software (USB interface accessory required). Only 4 parameters need to be configured to start using the controller:
The refrigerant being used
The valve model being used
The pressure transducer / sensor
Application characteristics (e.g. cold water unit with scroll compressor, cold water unit with screw compressor, refrigeration unit with integrated compressor, combined refrigeration units, etc.)
Configuring these parameters automatically sets all other parameters to the required values. All controller parameters can also be defined by the user.
