Controller for pulse modulated valve with display. The XEV12D module controls pulse modulated expansion valves (OPEN/CLOSED) for regulating superheating SH of the refrigerant, measured at the evaporator outlet, for optimising and improving performance of the cooling system. The control algorithm is based upon many years of experience. The pre-configured parameters have been determined through testing in real world applications by Dixell. This means that only minor changes to the parameters will need to be made for customer-specific applications. The XEV12D modules feature two sensor inputs for pressure probe PP12 with 4÷20 mA and configurable for temperature sensor Pt1000/NTC. In larger cooling applications with several expansion valves, it is sufficient to have just one XEV12D measuring the intake pressure since this will be the same for all expansion valves. So that all other XEV12D are informed of the pressure value, they are connected via a 2-wire LAN. There are two configurable inputs, one of which is required for the cooling requirement. The second digital input is not necessarily required. For example, it could be used for signalling that “defrosting is currently active”. The display shows the operating status and can be used for visualising SH, percentages or measured values. No additional equipment is required for programming. The RS485 interface for XWEB logging systems is integrated as standard.
