Due to its stability at high temperatures, coracon®SOL EKO F is suitable for use as a heat transfer medium in solar heating systems (e.g. vacuum tube collectors). The product is directly added as a premixed formulation and does not need to be mixed with fully desalinated water.
Advantageous compared to collector fluids, whose frost protection components are produced on a crude oil basis.
Features
- Frost protection component is 100% plant-based (BIO glycol)
- Entirely biodegradable
- Thermally stable
- Significantly longer storage life than propylene glycol (1.2 propandiol), up to three times better heat transfer at optimal working temperature
- Low viscosity
- Non-hazardous, water pollution class 1

The frost protection component coracon®SOL EKO F is made using renewable raw materials. The concept of sustainable bio-production has been implemented 100%.
Frost protection component:
- 1.3-propandiol (100% plant-based)
- HTX1 approval for use around food.
Recommended application
- System requirement: DIN Standard 4757 Part 1, closed system (no oxygen from air in the system)
- Optimum working temperature: -24 °C to 214 °C.
- Installation of sufficiently large equalisation tanks for solar systems with constant temperatures higher than 214 °C so that the heat carrier ...
- System requirement: DIN Standard 4757 Part 1, closed system (no oxygen from air in the system)
- Optimum working temperature: -24 °C to 214 °C.
- Installation of sufficiently large equalisation tanks for solar systems with constant temperatures higher than 214 °C so that the heat carrier fluid can transform into a vapour state and flow out of the collectors
- Refill only with coracon®SOL EKO F or coracon®SOL EKO concentrate, do not refill with water
- The anti-corrosion properties of the collector fluid can be determined by measuring the pH value. The pH value should be > 7.5 and can be determined using the appropriate diagnostic testing strips (item no. 492 122). If the pH value is too low, the fluid must be entirely replaced.
