R454C (Opteon™ XL20)
R454C (Opteon™ XL20) is a mildly flammable refrigerant with a GWP lower than 150 for replacement of R404A/R507A in new refrigeration systems.
R454C (Opteon™ XL20) based on Hydroflourolefines (HFO) with ultra low GWP and well balanced physical properties Refrigerant as a replacement for R404A/R507A in direct expansion systems in Medium and Low Temp in commercial and Industrial applications.
R454C (Opteon™ XL20) delivers a similar capacity like the refrigerants which should be replaced. So it is an easy and low cost solution for new systems.
It is classified as mildly flammable (ISO/ASHREA classification 2L), this allows significantly higher refrigerant charges in comparison to highly flammable A3 refrigerants and could be used safely when the safety precautions according to the existing regualtions and Norms were made.
With a GWP of 148 R454C (Opteon™ XL20) is below the 150 limit according to the F-Gas Regulation and the Ecodesign Directive and so especially qualified for hermetic sealed plug in equipment.
