Panasonic is test winner
The Panasonic room air conditioner is test winner in a Stiftung Warentest survey
The Stiftung Warentest foundation tested monoblock and split room air conditioners in Test Issue 7-2018. In the case of split air conditioning units, only one product was awarded the test rating "Good": The Etherea room air conditioner from Panasonic. The testers especially emphasised the low operating costs of the Panasonic air conditioning system.
The Panasonic Etherea room air conditioner not only impressed with the most economical operating costs in cooling mode. It can also be operated conveniently and trouble-free via mobile phone. Admittedly, all competitors promise this function. However, even the specialists from Stiftung Warentest have not been able to access the air conditioning system using a mobile phone for the majority of the split air conditioning units.
Independent of the manufacturer, Stiftung Warentest stresses that all split air conditioning units are considerably cheaper and cool faster than monoblock room air conditioners, i.e. mobile air conditioners that transport the heat to the outside via an exhaust hose. During a hot summer, the monoblock units can quickly consume more than twice as much electricity - and with significantly lower cooling capacity.
